Artist Info Born in Kumamoto in 1858. Son of the haiku poet Ryusui Sogetsu.

His first name was Yashiro. He later became the adopted son of Unrin-in and succeeded to the family. He first studied under Kajiyama Kyutake and later under Fuchino Keisen. In 1909, he was awarded the third prize at the 43rd Japan Art Association Exhibition.
